Reveal Clear Aligners

What are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are a popular orthodontic treatment option used to straighten teeth. They are transparent, removable trays made of a smooth, flexible plastic material designed to gradually shift teeth into the desired position.

How Do They Work?

A series of digital images are taken at our office. Dr. Warrenbrand will submit the images to Reveal where an Orthodontist will create your personalized treatment plan. Using 3D technology, they map out the movement of the teeth from their current position to the final desired alignment. Dr. Warrenbrand will receive the plan and review with you the details and final outcome that will be achieved. Once approved by you, Reveal will proceed fabricating your clear aligners.

Series of Aligners: Based on this plan, a series of clear aligners is made. Each aligner is slightly different, applying gentle pressure on specific teeth to move them gradually over time.

Progression: Patients wear each set of aligners for about 1-2 weeks before switching to the next set in the series. This process continues until the teeth reach the final position.

Advantages:

Aesthetic Appeal: Clear aligners are virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for those who want a more discreet orthodontic option.

Removability: Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, allowing for better oral hygiene.

Comfort: The smooth plastic of clear aligners is more comfortable than metal brackets and wires.

Convenience: Less frequent dental visits are often needed compared to traditional braces.

Considerations:

Compliance: Patients must wear aligners for 20-22 hours per day for effective treatment. Compliance is crucial for success.

Treatment Time: The length of treatment varies based on individual needs, typically ranging from several months to a few years.

Cost: While prices vary, clear aligners can be more expensive than traditional braces, depending on the complexity of the case and the provider.

Who is a Candidate?

Mild to Moderate Cases: Clear aligners are effective for treating mild to moderate crowding or spacing issues, as well as some bite problems.

Adults and Teenagers: Both adults and teenagers can benefit from clear aligner treatment, although teenagers should have all their permanent teeth.

Maintenance:

Cleaning: Aligners should be cleaned daily using a soft toothbrush and clear, antibacterial soap or specialized cleaning crystals.

Storage: When not in use, aligners should be stored in their case to prevent loss or damage.

Conclusion:

Clear aligners offer a modern, discreet, and convenient way to straighten teeth without the noticeable appearance of traditional braces. While they require commitment and compliance from the wearer, they provide an effective solution for achieving a straighter, more confident smile.
